 I've gotta cough that's been plaguing me for over a month now.  I can't even LAUGH without initiating a coughing fit, let alone run or lift weights.  It's driving me crazy.

Also, what is up with the medical articles here all of a sudden?  I thought this was supposed to be a fitness site for goths?  The information is interesting, but why have all the personal entries tapered off?

Well, wish me luck on my infection.  I gotta get rid of it so I can hit the weights again.

Hi all! Losing the weight is getting easier, as long as I can stay away from pizza and oreo cookies, but I still need more support.

I think I posted the link to my site here before, but it wasn't quite ready for the public eye at that point. I encourage all of you to pay us a visit again and check everything out.


I've been working hard on getting this all up and running, so I would appreciate it if you all could take a moment, check it out, and let me know what you think.

When I started this thing in August of 2003 right after graduation with my photography degree I was at 305lbs... I was a chubby boy...

so here's what I've got so far:

That is good.. but I've plateaued something fierce.. I can't seem to get over this weight loss slowdown/stagnation. in fact I haven't reduced one pound since November.

I've managed to loose a stone not sure what that is in lbs.. there was a temp crimbo set back but it's all better now :D

I have been doing this with only dieting and no exercise as I'm so huge I thought that maybe i could shift some weight without eating a chocolate bar after every mean and snack and it's working :) YAY!

But i'm going to have to incorporate some exercise.. and I'm thinking of buying a yoga mat, not just for yoga but to help mentally and physically define an *exercise space* which I've found helps.. I've found a shop seling them at a discount but I wanna bag so I can take it to the park with me.. i intend on making this but has anyone got good detailed pics info on what they look like

ALSO what do you do for exercise?

Hey, does anyone post to this anymore? I think I did quite a while ago. Anyways, since I've managed to gain about 12 pds of the 40+ I lost back over the last year, I have started Weight Watchers Online. I started about a week ago and have dropped 2 pds already. I'm at 175 now and want to get to 155. I had never made it all the way to my goal the first time around, but was glad to maintain. Who would have thought that by joining the military, one would gain weight?? I figured it would put me in the best shape, but I was wrong. The food they serve in the mess line is usually fattening, unless you want to eat salad everyday. So, here I am, bringing my own food to work now, now that I finally have my own place and trying to get my body back to shape. How is everyone else doing?

weight-loss (and inch-loss) emergency [08 Aug 2004|02:24pm]

Holy Crap. In the last few months I have managed to gain back half of the weight I lost (I lost about 20 lb. or so overall a couple years ago) and I have several pants and shirts I can no longer fit in or else can't fit in comfortably. I can't afford to buy new clothes and I don't *want* to have to buy any. School starts up again August 24th and I'm afraid I won't have anything to wear. It's already a struggle just to find things to wear now. I don't know how this happened. All I can figure is that I've been eating out a LOT this summer. :::sigh::: I need your help, LJers! I don't care if I just lose water weight as long as I lose *inches*. What can I do for a quick (albeit probably not that healthy) weight-loss? I have the Firm and DDR as far as exercise goes . . . but I don't know how often I need to do those for results. Obviously I need help with eating as well. I need to go to the grocery store and buy food and make it myself since food at restaurants has sooo much more calories and fat in them. It's just really hard to find time and energy to make food. Please, please, please-- any advice is very much appreciated.

I was wondering if anyone on this list takes the Juice Plus supplements? If so, hwo much does it cost you per month? And how long have you been taking these supplements and experienced any side effects? Thankies for any info.

I just got this scratch and win type coupon from Mademoiselle (aka Premier) fitness for a gym that's probably about a 10 minute drive away from where I live. The scratchy coupon gave me 90% off of an annual membership fee. Which isn't so bad, though the fine print says there's a $25-$60 "maintenance" fee. *rolls eyes*

Still, if I don't need the higher maintenance fees, it sounds like a good gym.

Con: The only problem is I'd have to drive there, and I don't like relying on that, as my current gym is only a 10 minute walk from where I live, and 5 minute walk from where I work. And I don't normally drive to work, so heading to that gym during lunch would be mostly inconvenient. Hrmmm...

Pro: it's got some kind of fitness class every hour every day. My present gym only has classes at night, and I usually don't work out at night.

I may still join up, even as a change of pace. I'm just still not too keen on having to rely on driving there.

Who gained weight over the holidays?


I'm going to start going to the gym, or doing some kickboxing workouts to tone back up again. I know I've gained about 5 pounds and generally that's easy to lose but the last little bit of weight I've been carrying around since forever just doesn't want to budge.

'kickstarting' your metabolism tricks don't seem to help me. So I guess all I'm going to keep doing is to be consistent and persistent.

There haven't been many posts recently, so I was just wondering if anyone has set themselves any goals with the New Year.

I've put on a little in the wrong places over the last quarter of 2003 and am probably closer to an 18 than a 16 these days =(

I have decided to start small. I hope to lose two dress sizes or twenty pounds by March 16th (my birthday). I know that's expecting a lot out of myself, but based on past results, I know I can do it if I apply myself.

And I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Krissi. I've been looking over fitness journals for a little while now and decided that I would like to join, since

I'm going to start the Winsor Pilates excersize.

My mother and I have a contest going that whoever reaches their goal weight first, gets a shopping spree.

I read a success story of someone who had been doing Winsor Pilates for eight weeks and lost four dress sizes. I think that's wonderful and I hope I can see those results, too.

My goal weight right now is 130. I'm 206 right now, so I have a ways to go but I have already started my excersize and it's great. I've tried the Atkins diet, Tae Bo, and Yoga and so far, Pilates has been the best. It's fun, too!

Hey guys,I'm trying to lose alot of weight and also tone up. I was wondering what sort of excercises I could do besides crunches. Also I'm not very limber and I can't seem to do the kind of crunches where you go all the way up to the knees but I can still feel it...alot. Does this mean it's not working? Thanks, +++Stacey

Well, I've been slacking. I haven't been in the gym more than a dozen times this year. At least til this week. I treated myself to some new work-out clothes (black and pink, kinda cute actually) as a motivation.

This week I've been in there twice on my lunch, just doing my stretches and knocking out about 5 miles on the bike. It feels so good to be exercising again, already. My mood and sleep have both improved. I'm trying to motivate myself to dance again in the evenings, but I've got so much going on.

I've also started eating better again. Smaller portions, less carbs and fat, etc.

The point of all this? Right now I'm hovering between an 16 or 18 depending. I want to drop to at least a 12, my ultimate goal being a size 10. I've always heard that the beginning is easy and that it gets harder. How do/did everyone keep themselves on the ball? I was a size 28 this time last year and by Christmas was an 18. I know the next 4 sizes won't be that easy, but I'm determined and pretty elated just to be back to a healthy lifestyle, even if its only 3 days of it. How do you keep going? What keeps you motivated?

hello, i'm jeniphir; twenty, ex-goth but still goes to the clubs & dances her arse off. i've recently taken interest to the atkin's diet. i'm almost at two hundred pounds, but i'm curvy so it doesn't look terrible. i could use to lose some weight. does anyone have any recommendations or advice? all positive comments will be appreciated. i'm not a terribly weight-conciuous person, but i want to be fit & a little smaller.

I've been feeling really good about myself lately.
Yesterday, after not wearing my watch for a few weeks, I put it on and it was actually loose on my wrist!
This was very exciting to me.
I think I found my exercise program, and that would be DDR (Dance Dance Revolution)!
Has anyone else had a chance to play this? I am hooked. HOOKED I SAY!
Now if I can just eat healthier... but then that’s a whole different story.

Anyone else have any progress reports?

Right now, I'm using a pair of Sketchers for my workout..not good! Does anyone have suggestions on good walking shoes that won't break my bank? A quick look on Footlocker.com showed some at almost $100 a pop - much more than I want to pay!

Well, here goes nothing!

I'm Shannon. I'll be 29 in a few weeks, and I weigh about 240 pounds. Funny thing is, I'm in perfect health in terms of blood sugar, heart rate, etc. I'm tired of doctors always telling me that I need to lose weight to be healthy when my numbers are better than people half my size.

I do, however, want to lose some weight. I see all these cute clothes out there, and I'm tired of not having them. =)

I'm currently a member of another community and I'm doing the Special K diet for the next two weeks. I'm also working out on the treadmill 3-4 times a week. I'm walking more, and trying to watch what I eat. I'm not into denying myself, which causes me problems.

My weak points are during the morning. I eat a large bowl of ceral (Special K with red berries RAWKS!) in the morning, but I'm starving by 11am. I need to drink more water as well...right now, I tend to drink Diet Coke!

I hope to find some good support here!
